The Swarovski chandelier in the main prayer hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is the largest chandelier in the world at 8 meters wide and 14 meters high. It weighs 8 tonnes and carries 1122 lamp. It was also voted the most beautiful chandelier ever made by the Guinness Book of Records.

The amazing single spread of Persian carpet that covers the floor of the main prayer hall is 70 X 60 meters. It is made of 1,700 million knots and weighs 21 tones. Contemplate this. It took 4 years for the carpet to come into existence. 600 women weavers worked under the supervision of 15 technical experts in the Iranian Khurasan to create this masterpiece in 28 colours.
