Oman is home to various ethnic groups such as Arab, Persian and South Asian backgrounds. The total population of the country is just over 3million. The official language of the country is Arabic. However English, Urdu, Baluchi, Swahili and several Indian languages are also spoken widely in various parts of the country. French and German are spoken by Hotel staff and Guides.

The people of Oman offer a very warm welcome to guests in their country. You will find that traditional Arab greetings are still widely observed and it is good manners to exchange greetings and handshakes when meeting Omanis.

Did you know that!

Oman’s “Amouge Gold” is the most complex and the most expensive perfume in the world. Created by world famous perfumer, Guy Robert, it is made of 120 different ingredients, including frankincense and myyrah of Oman. It is priced at $20,000 a bottle.
